President Donald Trump said Thursday that the U.S. is putting pressure on Russia to stop its attacks on Ukraine. “You have no idea what pressure we’re putting on Russia,” Trump claimed.
Trump was asked about what concessions the Russian government has offered to reach a peace plan with Ukraine, but gave a vague answer: “Stopping the war, stopping taking the whole country,” he said. “Pretty big concession.”
Meanwhile, Trump said that he was going to meet Thursday with “The Atlantic” Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg, who was inadvertently included on the Signal chat in which U.S. defense officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, discussed attack plans on Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Trump still hopeful for Russia-Ukraine peace deal, says he has his ‘own deadline’
President Donald Trump was asked Thursday if he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is “serious” about wanting peace after deadly strikes on Kyiv this week.
“So we are thinking that, very strongly, that they both want peace, but they have to get to the table,” Trump said as he held a lunch with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Store. “We’re waiting a long time. They have to get them to the table. And I think we’re going to get peace.”
Trump added there is a “lot of very bad blood” but that he hopes the two nations will come to an agreement.
