The structure resembles a DIY-style sundial or a small solar panel mount, but it’s more likely to be a decorative garden item or a functional object like a privacy screen or outdoor table top due to its materials and design.

Materials Needed:
-
4 Wooden slatted panels (like shutter panels or crate sides)
-
1 Wooden board (square, to mount panels onto)
-
1 Wooden post (e.g., 4×4 treated lumber)
-
Metal mounting brackets (to attach post to the board)
-
Concrete base or paver (for stability)
-
Wood screws & drill
-
Metal post anchor (optional, for ground mounting)
-
Level and measuring tape
🛠️ Steps to Build:
Step 1: Create the Panel Surface
-
Lay your four slatted panels in a square arrangement, edges touching, forming a large square.
-
Place a wooden board (like plywood or solid square panel) in the center where the four panels meet.
-
Screw the panels into the center board from behind to hold them together firmly.
Step 2: Attach the Post
-
Attach a metal bracket to the center of the wooden board using screws.
-
Insert the wooden post into the bracket and secure it tightly.
-
Optionally, reinforce the post with diagonal braces if needed for stability.
Step 3: Mount the Base
-
Either:
-
Bolt the post to a concrete paver using a metal post anchor (as shown in the image).
-
Or dig a small hole, insert the post, and pour quick-set concrete around it for a permanent fixture.
-
Step 4: Finish and Protect
-
Sand all edges to avoid splinters.
-
Apply wood sealant or exterior paint to protect against weather.
-
Optionally, add a pivot mechanism if you want it to rotate.
